Daha çok konut mu optimum yerleşim mi?

Bataklığı kurutmak büyük özverileri ve uzun erimli planları ve politikaları gerekli kılar. Bu da hane halklarının çalışma ve konut alanlarının optimum tasarımı ile mümkündür. Aksi durumda, daha çok konut, daha çok trafik, daha çok çevre kirliliği, daha büyük ekonomik kayıplar, daha fazla zaman kaybı ve daha fazla iş stresi kaçınılmazdır. Daha fazla konut üretimi, tıpkı kent içi trafikteki yeni bir üst geçit veya alt geçit yapımının, söz konusu trafik sorununu çözmediğini sadece ve sadece ötelediği gibi sonuç üretecektir. Bunun yegâne çözümü, bireylerin konut talebi ile gerçek konut ihtiyacı arasındaki makası daraltmaktır. Bu da kamu spotları ile ve halk bilinçlendirici faaliyet ve eğitimlerle olacaktır.

Bu ve bunun gibi konuların vizyon oluşturucu başlıklar ve buna bağlı alt temalarla I. Uluslararası Kent ve Çevre Araştırmaları Kongresi’ni İCAM Network yayın grubundaki dergilerimiz öncülüğünde düzenlemeyi planlıyoruz. Kongremizin birincisini Türkiye’de yaparken, ikinci ve sonrakileri dönerli olarak farklı ülkelerde düzenlemeyi planlıyoruz. Uluslararası kongremizin birincisini, Cumhuriyetimizin 100. Yıldönümü etkinlikleri kapsamında düzenlemeyi planlıyoruz. Bu bağlamda ilgili her sektör ve kesimden paydaşlık ve destek beklentilerimizin olduğunu, siz değerli okurlarımızla bu yazımız vesilesi ile paylaşıyorum.

Draining the swamp requires great sacrifices, long-term plans and policies. This is only possible with the optimum design of the working and residential areas of the households. Otherwise, more housing, more traffic, more environmental pollution, greater economic losses, more loss of time and more work stress are inevitable. More housing production will produce results, just as the construction of a new overpass or underpass in urban traffic does not solve the traffic problem in question, and only postpones it. The only solution to this is to narrow the gap between the housing demand of individuals and the real housing need. This will be achieved through public service announcements and public awareness activities and trainings.

We are planning to organize the 1st International Urban and Environmental Research Congress with vision-forming titles and related sub-themes on these and similar topics, under the leadership of our journals in the ICAM Network publishing group. While we are planning to hold the first of our congress in Turkey, we are planning to organize the second and subsequent ones in different countries on a rotating basis. We are planning to organize the first of our international congress as part of the 100th Anniversary of our Republic. In this context, I share with you, our esteemed readers, on the occasion of this article, that we are expecting stakeholders and support from every sector and segment.
