Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma ve Kent

Yeni yüzyıla, yeni yayın periyoduyla!

Merhaba kıymetli okurlarımız, yazarlarımız ve yayın sürecinde bize destek olan alan editörlerimiz ve sayıları binleri geçen güzide hakemlerimiz.

Bugünlere kadar hep geleceğe dair belirsizliklerin olağan düzenliliği söz konusu iken, iki binli yılların ikinci çeyreğinden sonra, insanoğlunu bekleyen geleceğin kestirimi, tarih öncesinden bugüne hiç bu kadar zorlaşmamıştı. Zira o devirlerde yerküremizin temel yapı taşına ilişkin büyük ölçekli makro değişkenler olmuyordu. Ayrıca öte gezegenlere, evrene ve hatta (olası) evrenlere ilişkin bir veri yoktu. Oysaki bu yıllar ve sonrasında bu donelere ilişkin varlık ve bu varlığın belirsizlikleri bizleri şimdiye kadarkinden çok daha fazla ürkütmektedir. Öte yandan, bir de insanlığı bekleyen doğal ve yapay felaketler dünya küçüldükçe daha da büyümekte. Dünya dışı varlıklar, küresel manyetik felaketler, elektrik ve elektronik teknosfer içinde kaybolmuş bizleri çok daha fazla çaresiz bırakacak gibi görülmekte…

İşte bunlardan dolayı, fiziksel ve demografik yoğunluğu artmaya devam eden kentsel alanlardaki belirsizlikler ve olası felaketlerin (manyetik fırtınalar, elektrik kesintisi, siber küresel saldırılar) şok etkisi ve artçı krizleri bizleri kent için daha fazla dirençli olmaya zorlamaktadır. Bu nedenle, önümüzdeki sayılarımızı “sürdürülebilir kalkınma ve kent” temasına ayırmak istiyoruz. Hatta bu tema kapsamında, 2024 yılının üçüncü ve / veya dördüncü sayısında bu konulara ağırlık verilmesini bekliyoruz.

Dear readers, writers, field editors who supported us during the publication process, and our distinguished referees, whose number exceeds thousands.

While till these days there was always the usual regularity of uncertainties about the future, after the second quarter of the 2000s, the prediction of the future that awaits humankind has never been this difficult from prehistory to today. Because in those times, there were no large-scale macro variables regarding the basic building block of our earth. Additionally, there was no data on exoplanets, the universe, or even (possible) universes. However, during these years and beyond, the existence of these data and the uncertainties of this existence scare us more than ever. On the other hand, the natural and artificial disasters awaiting humanity are getting bigger as the world gets smaller. Extraterrestrial beings, global magnetic disasters, electricity and electronics lost in the techno sphere seem to leave us even more helpless…

For this reason, the uncertainties in urban areas, whose physical and demographic density continues to increase, and the shock effects and aftershocks of possible disasters (magnetic storms, power outages, cyber global attacks) force us to be more resilient regarding the city. For this reason, we would like to devote our upcoming issues to the theme of “sustainable development and the urban”. In fact, within the scope of this theme, we expect these issues to be focused on in the third and / or fourth issue of 2024.
