Türkiye’nin Emeği ve Birikimi, Türkiye Yüzyılı…

Gururluyuz…
Merhaba değerli Kent Akademisi okurlarımız, yazarlarımız, yayın masasındaki güzide ekibimiz ve yayın sürecinde bize destek olan alan editörlerimiz ve sayıları binleri geçen güzide hakemlerimiz.
Bu sayıya Editör mektubunu tek başına yazmak bana koskoca Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin 100 yılı altında ağır gelmişti, bu nedenle Sayı Editörlerini ve yayın kurulunu temsilen, kıymetli Doç.Dr. Burçin HENDEN ŞOLT ile kaleme aldık.
Dünya üzerinde hala birçok eksikliklerine rağmen, bir ülkenin şimdiye kadar kullanılagelen yönetim biçimlerinden en ideal olanı Cumhuriyet, Türkiye’mizde büyük bir mücadele ile, M. Kemal Atatürk tarafından yüz yıl önce bugün ilan edilmiştir.
Cumhuriyete nasıl gelindiği bilgilerimiz dahilindedir. Bu bilgilerin üzerinden hareketle, o günlerden bu günlere ülkemiz her coğrafyası ile bir kalkınma sürecine girmiş hala da uygarlık, bayındırlık ve kalkınma mücadelesini tüm ülke halkı olarak vermektedir. Bu bağlamda daha nasıl ve ne şekilde ilerletilebilir sorusunun cevabı olarak, ICAM Network yayın grubu kendi kategorik alanında “sorun değil çözüm üretme” ilkesiyle hareket etmiş ve bünyesinde barındırdığı yayın grubu ile bu günlere gelmiştir.

Kent Akademisi Dergisi de 16 yıldır, bu kapsamda akademik hizmetlerini devam ettirmektedir. Başta yayın grubumuz ICAM Network olarak, sizlere daha önceki editör mektuplarımızda paylaşıldığı gibi, yıl başından buyana, Cumhuriyetimizin 100. Yılı kapsamında “Kent ve Çevre Araştırmaları Kongresi” ni organize etme hazırlıklarına girdik. Ancak, başta deprem ve doğal afetlerin etkisi ile bu akademik etkinliği erteleyerek ama en azından Cumhuriyete olan katkımızı perçinlemek için, Yayın Kurulu olarak 100. Yıl Özel Sayısı çıkarmaya karar verdik. Bu kararımızı S:56/2023/3/4 sayılı 14/08/2023 tarihli kararımızla önce dergi menülerimizde, ardından yayın grubu ve dergi kurumsal sosyal medya hesaplarından duyurduk ve makale kabulleri için tüm dünya akademik mecrasında çağrıya çıktık.

56. yayınımızda yine birlikteyiz
Yayın kurulumuzca, deprem sonrası gelişmeler sonucunda kongre yerine özel sayının daha uygun olacağı kararımızın belli olmasından itibaren gecikmeksizin “Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin Kuruluşunun 100. Yılı Özel Sayısı” duyurularımızı yaptık ve menülerimizde ilan ettik. Maalesef ki, bu kısıtlı aralıkta makale yükleme sürecini hakemlerimiz ve editörlerimizin, optimum değerleme süresini sıkıntıya sokmamak için, bir nebze kısa tutmak zorunda kaldık. Makale yükleme süresinin dolmasından sonra çokça eposta ve telefon aldık, sürenin uzatılması talepleriyle karşılaştık. Çok üzgünüz ki bu taleplere olumlu cevap vermemiz, sağlıklı bir editoryal sürecin ve hakemlik sürecinin işlemesini zorlaştıracaktı. Bu da yayın kalitemizden ödün vermemizi gerektirecekti, Biz de süreyi uzatma taleplerini uygun görmeyerek böylesi bir durumun ortaya çıkmasına yol açmadık. Bundan dolayı en başta bu sayıya katkı sunamamış olan yazarlarımızdan özür dileriz.
“Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin Kuruluşunun 100. Yılı Özel Sayısı” kapsamında Cumhuriyet döneminden bu yana kentlerin farklı sorunları ele alınmıştır. Yazarlarımızdan gelen makaleler, Cumhuriyetin çağdaş yönetim ve yaşam şeklinin akıl ve bilim rehberliğinde toplumsal ve ekonomik hayata aktarımının göstergesi niteliğindedir.
Tarihimizin en büyük ve kapsamlı çağdaşlaşma hamlesi olan Cumhuriyet, getirdiği yenilikler ve atılımlar ile Türk insanının ufkunu genişletmiş, ekonomik, sosyal ve siyasal yaşantımız dinamizm kazanmıştır. Bilim camiasının kıymetli yazarlarının farklı niteliklerdeki araştırmalarını böylesi önemli bir sayıda bir araya getirebilmekten son derece mutluyuz.
Bu sayıya, 48 Makale gelmiş, 32 Araştırma makalesi, 3 derleme olmak üzere toplam 35 makale kabul edilirken, 8 makale reddedilmiş, 2 makale iade edilmiş, 3 makale de geri çekilmiş ve toplamda bu sayıda 48 makale editoryal süreçte işlem görmüştür. Yine bu sayımızda, 17 alan editörü ve en az üç hakemli olmamızdan dolayı, reddedilen, geri çekilen makale hakemleri dahil 155 hakem görev yapmıştır.

İki Ayda Bir Sayı Yayınlama Kararımız, Akademik Mecrada, Dergimize Olan Teveccühün Gerekliliğiydi.
Yayın Kurulumuzun S:54/2023/1/1 tarih ve S:54/2023/1/1 sayılı kararı gereğince yayın periyodunun yılda altı sayı (iki ayda bir) olacak şekilde değiştirilmesine ve bu değişikliğin 2024 yılının aynı tarihi itibarıyla yürürlüğe konulacağına karar verilmiştir. Tüm yazarlarımızın bilgisine sunarız.
Bu bütünlük içinde, nice gelecek sayılarda buluşmak ümidi ile esen kalınız.

Greetings to our all-precious Kent Academy readers, to the writers, to our distinguished team at the publication desk, to our field editors who supported us during the publication process and to our distinguished referees whose number exceeds thousands. On behalf of all our issue editors from the following sections, issue editors and editorial board, writing an Editor’s letter for this issue alone was too much for me under the centennial anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, so I would like to thank esteemed Associate Professor Dr. Burçin HENDEN ŞOLT due to asscoiate writing this special letter with me.
An independent republic, which is the most ideal form of government of a country ever used in the world despite its many shortcomings, was officially declared in Türkiye by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with a huge struggle a hundred years ago today.
We know how the Republic came into being. Based on this experience, our country has gone into a development process with every geographical piece since those days, and the whole country’s people have been still struggling for civilization, prosperiyt and development. In this context, as an answer to the question of how and in what ways it can be progressed, ICAM Network publishing group in its categorical field has acted with the principle of “producing solutions, not problems” and come to this day with its incorporated publishing group.
Kent Academy Journal has been continuing its academic services in this context for 16 years. As our publishing group, ICAM Network, as shared with you in our previous letters to the editor, we have been preparing to organize the “Urban and Environmental Research Congress” within the scope of the 100th Anniversary of our Republic since the beginning of the year. However, by postponing this academic event due to the effects of earthquakes and natural disasters, but at least to reinforce our contribution to the Republic, we, as the Editorial Board, decided to publish a 100th Anniversary Special Issue. We announced this decision with our decision numbered S:56/2023/3/4 dated 14/08/2023, first in our journal menus and then on the publishing group and journal corporate social media accounts, and we called for article purchases in academic media all over the world.

We are again together with our 56th publication.

After our editorial board decided that a special issue would be more appropriate instead of a congress as a result of the developments after the earthquake, we made our “Special Issue of the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic of Turkey” announcements without delay and announced it in our menus. Unfortunately, in this limited period, we had to keep the article upload process a little short in order not to disturb our referees and editors in the optimum evaluation period. After the article upload period expired, we received many e-mails and phone calls with requests to extend the period. We are very sorry that our positive response to these requests would make it difficult for a healthy editorial and referee process to operate. This would require us to compromise on our broadcast quality, so we did not cause such a situation to arise by not extending the time. For this reason, we would like to apologize to our authors who were not able to contribute to this issue in the first place.

Within the scope of the “Special Issue of the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Republic of Turkey”, different problems of cities henceforth the establishment of Turkish Republic have been discussed. Articles from our writers are an indicator of the modern management and contemporary lifestyle of the Republic to the social and economic life under the guidance of reason and science.

The Republic, which is the movement of the largest and most comprehensive modernization in our history, with it bringing innovations and breakthroughs has expanded the horizons of the Turkish people and gained dynamics to their economic, social and political life. We are extremely happy to be able to bring together the studies of different qualities by valuable researchers of the scientific community in such a significant special issue.

In this special issue, 35 out of 48 articles submitted were accepted, including 32 research articles and 3 Review articles, while 8 articles were rejected, 2 articles were returned, and 3 articles were withdrawn. Thus, a total of 48 articles in this special issue were processed in the editorial process, with 105 referees and 17 field editors since we are the journal having the process with the minimum three blind peer reviewers.

Our decision to publish bi-monthly issue was a necessity for the great interest given to our journal in the academic world.
By the decision of our Editorial Board dated S:54/2023/1/1 and numbered S:54/2023/1/1, it has been decided that the publication period will be changed to be six issues per year (bimonthly) and this change will be put into effect as of the exact date of 2024. We present the information of to all our authors.
