Yok Oluşa Karşı Direnme…

Bedelini tüm insanlığın ödeyeceği tüketim toplumunun sınırsız sorumsuz davranışlarının yanında, üretici firmaların kâr maksimizasyonunu temel alan tutumları ve eylemleri, bütünleşik olarak tüm insanlığı yok oluşa götürmektedir.

İşin ilginç yanı, iklim değişikliğine yol açan ve küresel ısınmaya neden olan göstergelerin kahir ekseriyeti, tüketici davranışlarından ziyade üretici firmaların bedava olan çevreyi sınırsız ve sorumsuz kullanmalarından kaynaklanmaktadır. Ayrıca, çokuluslu veya ulusüstü üretici firmaları, küresel eylem planlarını ve kararlarını görmezden gelen veya bu politikaları arkadan dolaşan çarelere yönelmektedir. Öteyandan küresel anlamda dev uluslararası üretici firmaların, az gelişmiş veya geri kalmış ülkelerin çevreyi kirletme kontenjanlarını satın alma eğilimleridir. Bu yetmediği gibi, yine gelişmiş ülkeler, katı ve sıvı atıklarını gelişmekte olan veya geri kalmış ülkelere ihraç etmeleri küresel ısınmaya tuz biber olmaktadır.

Birleşmiş Milletler tarafından 2000 yılında tüm dünyaya ilan edilmiş olan “Bin Yıl Hedefleri” sadece vizyoner hedefler olarak gündeme gelmekte, buna yönelik aksiyonlar çoğunlukla göstermelik kalmaktadır. Bu hedeflerden küresel amaçlar ve bu 17 amaç altındaki alt hedefler maalesef ki büyük güçler tarafından ilan edilip, bunların uygulanması, göreceli olarak çevreyi daha az kirleten ülkelere fatura edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Gelişmiş ülkelerin bu konudaki oportünist ve popülist politikaları insanlığın iklim değişikliğine karşı mücadelelerini daha da çaresiz hale getirmektedir.

Bu durum, en son 2021 yılındaki COP 26 Glasgow’daki zirveye olan katılım sayısında ve bu zirvenin çıktılarında açıkça görülmektedir. İşte bu nedenle ki, asıl önlem alması gereken devletler ve güçler iklim değişikliğini hızla tetikleyen olayların asıl ve baş aktörleridir. Buna karşı tek çözüm, maalesef ki insanların NİCELİKSEL FARKINDALIKLARIndan ve karşı koyuşlarından başka bir şey değildir.

Biz de hem Kent Akademisi Dergimizde hem bu dergimizin kardeş dergisi JENAS’ta son altı sayıdır küresel ısınmayı, atık kültürünü, iklim değişikliğini vurgulamaya, gündemde tutmaya gayret etmekteyiz.

Bu konuda dergimize bu sayıda yirmiden fazla makale gelmiş, bunların dörtte biri reddedilmiş, dörtte biri de süreci tamamlanmadığı için, gelecek sayılarımıza kalmıştır. Küresel ısınma ve iklim değişikliğine yönelik akademik cepheden mücadelemiz devam edecektir.

As an addition to the limitless irresponsible behavior of consumer society, the cost of which will be paid by all humanity, the actions and attitudes of companies that aim at maximizing the profit take the humanity to the depletion.

Interestingly enough, the indicators that lead to global warming and climate change are not because of the consumer behavior but because of forever and irresponsible use of nature which is found free of charge by the companies. Additionally multinational and supra-national production companies turn their heads into solutions which actually ignore global action plans, decisions or policies that go around them. The other hand, one example of this is that globally huge international companies tend to purchase underdeveloped countries’ quota of polluting the environment. On top of that, developed countries export their solid and liquid waste to underdeveloped or developing countries and this puts the boot in global warming.

The “Millennium Development Goals” which was announced to the whole world by the United Nations in 2000 are in agenda as only visionary goals. The actions taken for these goals seem to be only nonfunctional and not real. Among these, the global goals and 17 other goals below them were announced by the great powers but unfortunately the countries that pollute the environment relatively less than other are tried to be charged with the application of these. Opportunist and populist policies of developed countries about this issue make the struggles and fight of humanity against climate change desperate.

This situation can be clearly seen when we look at the number of participants and outputs received in the COP 26 in Glasgow in 2021. That’s why, the countries and powers that should take precautions are the fundamental and main actors of the actions that rapidly trigger climate change. Unfortunately, the only solution for that is the resistance and quantitative awareness of people.

We have also been trying to keep global warming, the problem of waste and pollution and lastly climate change on the agenda and emphasize them both on our journal Urban Academy and its sister journal JENAS for the last six issues.

More than twenty articles have been submitted to our journal, a quarter of them have been rejected and another quarter of them will be published in our next issues because their publication process has not been completed. Our fight against global warming and climate change will continue in an academic front.
